Hong Kong BBQ Pork polo bun @ Crystal Jade My Bread, Singapore

Every time I go Hong Kong I will go City Hall to eat the dim sum and the BBQ pork polo bun or "cha shew polo bun". Its very popular in Hong Kong. Likewise in Singapore I will not miss the Hong Kong BBQ Pork Polo Bun at Crystal Jade My Bread outlets.

Hong Kong BBQ Pork Polo Bun

Yummy look of the polo (pineapple) bun
Delicious meat and pastry....bun
This bread outlet offers nice Hong Kong Bread and pastries. Last weekend, I was in singapore, so I took the opportunity to fulfil my routine crave and eat this polo bun :).Trust me, it is very delicious and you will want more after the first one! The bun is very soft and the BBQ Pork ingredient is just nice as not too sweet! In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, I have yet to come across a BBQ Pork polo bun. The closer I came across is at the Bread Story outlet at Mid Valley Megamall which sells the polo bun but the ingredient is chicken (halal).

Crystal Jade My Bread has many outlets in Singapore. The one I went is at #B1-07 Junction 8 Shopping Centre, Singapore.

Delicious Burger & Fries @ Carl's Jr at Mid Valley Megamall

Delicious fries and chicken sandwich :)
If you are wondering where or suddenly have the urge or crave to eat nice burger and potato fries, Carl's Jr may satisfy you! To me the fries here is the best in town! The beef burger with the bacon is good and is recommended. But if you are not a beef fan then the chicken is as good.

The Carl's Jr at Mid Valley Megamall is located at T023, 3rd Floor, Midvalley Megamall, Mid Valley City, Lingkaran Syed Putra, Kuala Lumpur (near Mc Donald and GSC)

Char Koay Teow & Pork Noodle @ Restoran Seng Lee at Jalan Batai, Damansara Heights

Tasty Char Koay Teow in Penang style
The stall at this Restoran Seng Lee sells good and tasty Char Koay Teow and Pork Noodle if you don't mind a noisy ambience! I was there for lunch during weekday and the coffee shop was crowded with people having their lunch. The shop also has a stall selling Wantan Mee and Curry Laksa. Since it was only two of us, we ordered big char koay teow (Rm5) and Big Pork noodle with additional egg (Rm6).

Koay Teow being fried in the hot wok
Woman frying the delicious koay teow
Delicious Pork Noodle with the additional egg
The char (fried) koay teow is a Penang style and is good enough to satisfy one's craving :) As for the pork noodle soup, although it cost Rm6 a slightly pricey the stall gives quite a lot of pork - meat, minced meat, meat ball and liver. I think normally is RM5.50 but with the additional egg it cost extra RM0.50. The soup is tasty and just like a home made cooked bowl of pork noodle. Its delicious!

Outside Restoran Seng Lee - lorry selling penang rojak
Fried sweet banana, "nien ko" with sweet potato, others
Restoran Shagri La

Outside the restaurant there is also a lorry selling Penang Rojak buah. A few shops away there is also a restaurant called "Sangri La" and inside there is a stall called Famous Hon Kee noodle which is popular with their duck and char shew noodle . Just outside this Sangri La restaurant there is lorry selling nice fried sweet banana, nien ko with sweet potato and others.

Famous Hokkien Mee @ Kim Lian Kee, Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur

Cook frying Hokkien Mee under fire on charcoal
Hokkien Mee with extra pork lard
If you are craving for Hokkien Mee (noodle fried with black sauce in a hot wok under charcoal fire), you may try this at Kim Lian Kee, in Petaling Street which is also known as China Town! This stall is just opposite the famous "Air Mata Kuching" (Longan with winter melon drink) stall.
Delicious noodle with prawn and squip
Beef Noodle in hokkien style (black sauce)

This stall serves one of the best Hokkien Mee in Kuala Lumpur. One person portion is at cost of RM7.00. I had also ordered the beef noodle [RM9.00] which is also quite good.

This Kim Lian Kee shop at No. 51, Jalan Petaling Street, Kuala Lumpur.

Tonkotsu Ramen @ Goku Razu Ramen at Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur

Ultimate Tonkotsu Ramen
Waiter standing and welcoming guests to Goku Razu Ramen
I was walking in Mid Valley Megamall  while looking for what to have for dinner and I saw a standing banner promoting this newly opened Ramen restaurant at the North Court of the mall. My partner said "only if they serve with pork then we eat!" I said "OK" and let's look for the restaurant.

Yummy Ramen with delicious broth and Nitamago
Spicy Tonkotsu

To our surprise this newly opened ramen restaurant  which is just next to the 'FOS' shop was quite packed with people and we had to wait for the waiter to find seats for us. When I opened the menu and it says "The Gokuraku ramen is created to satisfy the ultimate noodle craving. It is tapped with special ingredients hand-picked by our chefs, combined with the rich and aromatic tonkotsu broth that makes the wholesome bowl of ramen complete."

So I decided to try the Ultimate Tonkotsu Ramen [RM20.90+] - Tonkotsu Broth Noodles tapped with Char Siew, Flavoured Eggs, Black Fungus, Spring Onion, Leek, Banboo Shoot, Seaweed and Fragrant Garlic Oil.
I would say the broth (soup) is very nice and the noodle is also good as it is very smooth! My partner ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu [RM17.90+] with side order of Nitamago (flavoured egg) [RM2.00+]. Overall the ramen meal at Goku Raku Ramen was satisfying and we do not mind go back to try other food served in this non-halal restaurant!

To our surprise again, when the bill came the Ultimate Tonkotsu and Spicy Tonkotsu was half price (50% discount) from what is stated in the menu. This is probably the promotion for this newly opened restaurant.  Goku Raku Ramen is at Lot No. S.025 & S.026, Level 2, (North Court) Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur. Telephone No. +603-2282 3924

Kuching Kolok Mee @ Nam Chun, Bangsar

Kuching Kolok or Kolo Mee must eat with the chilly
I have been craving to eat a good Kuching Kolok Mee or some called Kolo Mee. The other day I saw a banner at Kedai Makanan Nam Chun, Bangsar Lucky Garden, advertising to sell Kuching Kolok Mee starting 17 March 2011! So I decided to give a try for my lunch!

Kolok Mee Stall
To a certain extent it does satisfy my craving although I have to ask the stall to add extra vinegar and garlic oil which made the noodle more tasty. The price for  a small plate is Rm4.50 and Big is RM5. The stall also serves Red Kolo Mee - with addition cha siew gravy or also called "pang ang"! I had tried this in Kuching few years ago while I was on business trip. This stall is just next to the Sarawak Laksa stall at Kedai Makanan Nam Chun, Bangsar, Lucky Garden.

Dry Prawn Mee @ Restaurant Golden Kim Wah, Damansara Kim

Yummy Dry Har Mee with egg and slice pork
Normally, the prawn mee or often known as "Hokkien Mee" in Penang or "Har Mee" in Kuala Lumpur is served in a bowl of  tasty prawn soup.

But this dry prawn mee is served without dark soya sauce as only pure prawn soup is used. A separate small bowl of prawn soup come with the noodle. I personally think that this particular dry prawn mee stall at Restaurant Golden Kim Wah serves the best dry prawn mee (Rm5)/Big :)

I cannot remember the lot number of the restaurant but it is at Jalan 20/11, Damansara Kim, Petaling Jaya. (Few shops from the Restaurant Euro Deli)

Parmesan Oregano Chicken slice & Egg
Its delicious and yummy!!
Today, I planned to have sandwiches for my early lunch. I was thinking where I can get nice and cheap sandwiches. Then this SUBWAY Breakfast Promotion at cost of RM6.30 with "Free Coffee" came into my mind!

I then decided to drop my closer SUBWAY in Bangsar, No. 30, Jalan Telawi, Kuala Lumpur to pack my lunch. The good thing is at Subway, you can choose your own bread (like italian white, honey oat, parmesan oregano, hearty italian, etc), vegetable salad pickles and sauce!

Sanuki Udon at Taman Bukit Desa, Kuala Lumpur

House Special with Egg
I was craving for the best Udon in Kuala Lumpur and came across this restaurant from other blogs. I ordered the House Special with Egg (RM5++). Its plain udon with poached egg. There are other combinations offered. My partner ordered the Kakiage Udon (RM7++).

Kakiage Udon
Original Soup
The texture of the Udon is very smooth and probably the "Best Udon in town"! Since it is so good I ordered another bowl of udon with Original Soup (RM5++) to satisfy my craving :).

Karaage (Deep Fried Chicken)
Chicken Yakitori
Liver Yakitori

Sanuki also offered side dish and yakitori (grilled skewer only after 5.30pm). For the side dish, we ordered the Karaage (deep fried chicken) 3 small pieces for RM3++. This karaage is juicy and melting in your mouth! Its like soft shell crab. As for yakitori , we ordered the chicken and liver. Its delicious! The prices for skewer starts from RM2++ onwards.
